Jeffrey Markello

Jeffrey Markello is a native of East Aurora, NY and graduate of the University of Rochester (1987) and the State University of New York Buffalo School of Law (1990).

Having litigated hotly contested personal injury, family law, and other civil and criminal cases throughout his career, Jeff is now also trained in the principals of mediation and collaborative law.  His practice is focused on helping clients resolve their legal disputes in the most effective manner to suit their individual needs. 

As Town Judge in the Town of Aurora, he adjudicates both criminal and civil matters. His public service is representative of his commitment to the East Aurora community where he and his wife are raising their children. He previously served on the East Aurora Board of Education for nine (9) years from 1993-2002, as Aurora Town Prosecutor and Deputy Town Attorney for seven (7) years from 2002-2009, and as the Sardinia Town Prosecutor from 2006-2009.

Appointed by New York State Supreme and Family Court Judges to serve as Court Evaluator, Referee, Guardian Ad Litem, Law Guardian (attorney for children), or Attorney for Incapacitated Persons, Jeff has also served as a Buffalo City Court Small Claims Hearing Officer since 1996. He has continuously been a member in good standing with the Bars of both New York State and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts since 1991, and is particularly active in several Erie County Bar Association practice committees.

Jeff serves as Treasurer on the Executive Board of the WNY Collaborative Law Professionals, Ltd. (www.wnycollaborativelaw.com), and his practice spans courts all across the Eighth Judicial District of Western New York.  As an associate counsel and closing agent for a number of title companies, he is active overseeing the firm’s busy real estate practice which involves closing of both commercial and residential transactions.

Giving back to the community through charitable work, Jeff serves as a Trustee on the Foundation Boards for both Suburban Adult Services and the East Aurora Rotary Club, a civic service organization over which he also presided as President.
